Georgia woman arrested for theft of property first degree

February 28 2024

Auburn, Ala. - On Feb. 27, 2024, Auburn Police arrested Takelia Parham, age 37, from Pine Mountain, GA on a felony warrant charging her with theft of property first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report involving a fraudulent check on Sept. 11, 2023. Police met with a complainant that reported a check made out to a business was mailed to the intended recipient from a location in Auburn. While in transit, the check was stolen and altered, and a suspect deposited the check at a bank in Georgia.

Takelia Parham was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, an arrest warrant for theft of property first degree was obtained, associated with the financial loss caused by the fraudulent transaction.

Parham turned herself in to the Auburn Police Department on Feb. 27, 2024, and was arrested in obedience to the warrant. She was subsequently transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
